Veronica Ruiz-Ashwal

Veronica completed her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and Business Administration at Carlos Albizu University and subsequently began her work in the mental health profession.

Veronica has held a number of leadership positions in the field. Over the course of ten years, Veronica has been the Executive Director of a behavioral modification program and the principal of an alternative Military academy for troubled youth. She has overseen utilization quality assurance, case management, and alternative to residential treatment programs in Miami Dade and Broward County. She has been involved in the Miami Chamber of Commerce, Weston Newspaper and currently an active member of Mujeres Latinas in Broward County.

Veronica has over the course of her career proven to be effective in setting up innovative systems in numerous facilities. She is a Nationally Awarded Winner of Latino Who’s who in 2012, Awarded 100 Most Outstanding Woman in 2014, Author of the book Power-Up, and a leader in the community service spectrum. Today Veronica is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for her patients and a positive role model for future generations.

Veronica is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She tailors her approaches to your unique goals, blending cognitive behavior and solution-focused techniques. She has concentrated her clinical experience to working with individuals for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and trauma. Additionally, Veronica conducts therapy in both Spanish and English. Veronica also works with children and families with innovative play therapy techniques. Her background working as a principal for behaviorally challenged students adds to her clinical insights with children. Veronica is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for patients. She is a compassionate and caring psychotherapist with extensive clinical experience.
